Jamie Meares in Lonny

I think I mention Jamie Meares and her store Furbish about every other week. Mrs. Meares and her crew are on fire right now. I still can’t believe I went to High Point Market with them. Yes,  I’m being unabashedly starstruck right now. Jamie’s work just landed on the pages of this month’s Lonny. She is so tal-en-ted.

Last night when I was flipping the virtual pages, I decided this project was too good not to be shared.

The ginger jars? The pops of coral? What a perfect moment!

She has the balance between funky and tradition down pat. The Jackie O graphic above the walnut buffet is just cool.

Oh, the styling …

I’m obsessed with the greek key/lucite bench.

What detail caught your eye?

Yellow Color Blocking

Ever since Kate Spade published this pic on instagram, I have been intrigued by yellow color blocking, especially when paired with nude and white. All together, those shades create such a warm sunny balance.

Brighton rocked yellow and white with a monogrammed belt. Adorable.

Here are some cute ways to work this trend into your wardrobe.

1. The Kate Spade Shift 2. Cosmetic bag 3. Drops on presale 4. Dress 5. Clutch 6. Hat (My sister wore it to her bachelorette party!) 7. Flats 8. Sunnies 9. Cardigan 10. Jo Malone perfume

Dynamic Duos for June

June is going to be a marvelous month. Besides my sister’s wedding, there are two other unions that I’m just giddy about: Trina Turk for Banana Republic and Quadrille for Jack Rogers — woohoo!

Mrs. Turk (a.k.a. the queen of Palm-Springs chic) is debuting her BR collection on June 7th. Glamour gave us a glimpse of the new line including swimwear, dresses, towels, shorts, and sunglasses.

Quadrille is lending some of their colorful preppy fabrics we all know and love (Aquarius and Jacks II), to Jack Rogers for a series of new Navajo sandals.

I know it’s a tough decision, but which one are you more excited about?!

Beach House Dreams …

I have a major case of the cedar shake shingles. As in, I can’t stop day dreaming about summers in a little cedar shake shingled cottage or uh … mansion? Either way my head is in the clouds this morning. Let’s hear it, who wants to escape to one of these homes with me?

I really don’t need a grand structure … Jeffery Bilhuber’s cottage is the ideal size.

Or this one …

Island Time

You could say I’m still on island time this Monday. I had the most wonderful weekend with my mom and sister. I haven’t been back to coastal Texas in such a long time. We hit all our old haunts and my very best friend from high school came to see me. It’s amazing how refreshing a weekend with the girls can be!

I tried to instagram all the memories made on our girls-just-want-to-have-fun weekend.

Allison is a candy fanatic; therefore, the weekend called for custom M&Ms with her future name, wedding date, and family motto. If someone doesn’t say “fired up” at least once … it just isn’t right.

My mom is such a dear: She came to help me set up for the shower.

The bride’s chariot:

Raquel came, too!

My favorite time of day: when the sun sets over all the boats.

How was your Mother’s Day weekend? I hope all the moms were spoiled rotten!

I Hope Your Weekend is Full of …

… Rays.

Close the laptop and go outside this weekend. Oh, and call your mom if you’re far away and hug her if you’re near!

Happy early Mom’s Day!

I’ll be back on Monday when I return from my sister’s bachelorette party in Texas. What are your weekend plans?

xoxo,

Shannon

Tablescaping Nautical Style

True story: Once I packed a bag for a four-day weekend and every outfit contained navy blue stripes. I have to make a conscious effort not to include navy blue in every outfit — and blog post. Today I’m figuring out that my willpower is that of a kid in a candy store when it comes to my favorite color. Here I go again, indulging in a little nautical therapy.

I’m off to my sister’s beach-y bachelorette party this weekend. I fully intend to ride around on a golf cart sporting my best navy stripes.
