Seasonal Prep: Valentine’s Day Garb

One Valentine’s Day William and I decided we would go to our favorite seafood haunt to celebrate. Everything appeared normal when we walked in: the smell of butter, the waiters in white, the same host who insisted on calling William “Mr. Will.” It was our place.

As we sat down we noticed some changes … the menu was on a red heart, the table had been sprinkled with red confetti, and a single red balloon shot straight up in the middle. We looked at each other in horror. Somehow we’d been sucked into Valentine’s Day hell complete with an aphrodisiac inspired prix-fixed menu, heart shaped everything, a free CD of R&B’s most romantic songs, and no escape.

Ever since, I never could get into the red and pink extravaganza. I like my V-day wardrobe like I like my dates — sweet and effortless with a hint of romance.

My dream date outfits are below:

Day: Headband, Studs, Sweater, Watch, Pants, Flats

Night: Hoops, Lips, Bangle, Dress, Clutch, Shoes

What’s your idea of the perfect date?

I’m totally with Gabriella–I NEED that bow headband! Such great looks, Shannon! And my perfect date is a picnic in the summer with my hubs!:)

Cute cute cute! And I love that you styled it with a headband. Confession: I have a sizeable collection, but have stopped wearing them because they seemed to be out. This confirms it: I’m bringing ‘em back!

I think those pink pants are pretty much the greatest, and I agree – the red & white & hearts kills me. Blech. My husband and I actually celebrate our state’s (Oregon) birthday instead since it is the same day. We try to do Oregon themed things and if it is the weekend, we fit in an adventurous trip somewhere!

I am so with you on this one. We DON’T do cheesy Valentine’s day prix-fixes either. All I want is a lovely low key dinner. As for hearts, is it weird that I love to wear them any day of the year EXCEPT v-day?

And, I’m definitely making a trip to try on those leopard flats this weekend!

I have them in black … I kid you not, I had to wear them for 6 hours at a wedding and then to the after party and I never even thought about taking them off. They are comfy, I promise.
